Welcome back! Today I have a review for you on the course Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing by Michelle Shroeder. Michelle runs an incredible blog where she earns around $50,000 per month from affiliate marketing. Yep, you read that right!
No matter what you belief on what is or isn’t good money – that, my friend is really good money…from your computer! 🙂
I am a newbie, mid 40’s blogger. I got started in late summer of 2018. I had been gearing up for a couple of months to start my blog and finally really hit the ground running towards the end of August. To say I was lost and trying to find my way in the dark would be a massive understatement! I have a popular post here about how I started my blog and how I can help you get started if you are interested.
I stumbled across Michelle’s website looking for blogs in my same genre. I wanted to learn from the BEST and follow in their footsteps. To say I felt I had hit the jackpot would not properly sum up how I felt! Michelle was inspiring and down to earth.
I found her course and felt it was money worth spending to learn from a very successful blogger such as her.
Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing is a course designed for a newbie blogger who is interested in learning what affiliate marketing is, how to find products or services to promote, how to apply to become an affiliate and ultimately how to be very successful.
Here are a few questions you might have about the course:
How is the course delivered?
This is almost entirely a “reading” course. There is one recorded video that is done as a mini training for Pinterest strategies. I need to add that the recording is VERY good! If you like reading, this course is right up your ally.
Are there any images or graphics throughout the course?
Yes! You will find quite a few screen shots through the modules helping you to see what she is talking about or how to do something she is teaching.
Does the course include a workbook or printables?
Yes! There is a mini workbook that you will print off at the start of the course as well as multiple worksheets available for printing. These worksheets will help take notes and put into practice what she is teaching.
Are there any recording or audio trainings in this course?
As I mentioned earlier in the post, there is one audio training that goes over Pinterest strategies. It is a little over 30 minutes long and is WELL worth the time to listen to it. I have had personal success with Pinterest (you can read about my first month of success here) and highly recommend Pinterest for anyone who is running an online business.
Does the course have any Facebook training for affiliate marketing?
Yes! There is an entire module dedicated to Facebook and how to use ads to direct traffic to your site.
Is there any direction on things that should NOT be done when working as an affiliate?
Yes! A list of things NOT to do is included and is helpful for newbies for sure!
What about holiday ideas and tips?
Michelle does include a section on how to increase affiliate sales around the holidays.
What about ideas for affiliate programs/products that I could promote? Will this course point me in the right direction in terms of giving me actual ideas for affiliate programs I might need to take a look at?
Yes it does! It includes a list of 80+ affiliate programs to take a look at (all in different niches) that will give you immediate ideas for making money.
Now, let’s go over how it helped me.
Did the course actually help me in my journey to affiliate marketing? The quick answer is YES!
Here is a list of things I learned or improved after taking the course:
- It showed me the “ins and outs” of finding affiliate programs, how to apply and how to add them to my site.
- It gave me direction on what not to do, which is very important for someone like me who is new, nervous and really didn’t know what she was doing.
- The course opened my mind to the possibility that Pinterest could have on my blog traffic and business overall.
- It taught me the importance of finding out what my “top 10” posts are and maximizing those for affiliate marketing as well as traffic.
- It truly opened my mind to the possibility of what my blog could do financially if I learned the art of traffic and affiliate marketing. (sometimes, believing that something is possible is the biggest part of the battle!)
- It generated excitement when reading about the ONE blog post that brings in around 40K per month for Michelle! (being excited about something gets you UP in the morning – so that was a big one for me!)
If I could speak freely about the course:
First of all, Michelle’s course is very simple to follow. It is broken down into easy to open and understand modules that will give you basic information to help you get started. By the end of the course you will have an understanding of:
- What affiliate marketing is
- How it works
- How to find services and products you like and trust
- How to apply for programs
- How to be successful
- PLUS bonus material IS available too!
If you are new the blogging/online world and are looking for an easy to understand course that you can get through in less than a week – this is your course.
If you are an already successful blogger who is looking for more advanced strategies in affiliate marketing you might want to look further.
Second, Michelle is very laid back and NOT (pardon the way I say this) “snobby” at all! I have never met her in person – we have only communicated a few times through email – but each time there has been any communication she responds FAST! Usually within minutes! For a TOP earning blogger on the internet today, that means something to me.
Third, I really liked the Facebook group that Michelle offers to her students. I realize that most courses offer Facebook groups but this one is actually REALLY good! Michelle is IN the group often!!! She answers questions regularly and even has days where she encourages the students to post whatever URL they want – then to share TEN others who have also shared! It is an active group where I have learned a TON!

Lastly, one of the things I liked most about the course is the cost. It didn’t cost me an entire house payment to purchase it! I have bought courses that cost SIX TIMES as much as her course is. Seriously! For what you are paying, you are getting information that could potentially make you TENS OF THOUSANDS each month. So, to me, the price is very CHEAP! (thank you Michelle)
The BIG question…Will I make money after I buy this course?
As with any course, you will get out of the course what you put in. (I bet you kind of expected that answer, right?) 🙂
If you do half of the class and only apply half of the information she provides then you should not expect a large amount of success. However, if you go through the entire course and apply it ALL you will find incredible success in affiliate marketing.

If you have a blog OR if you are thinking of starting a blog then I highly recommend this course for generating success in affiliate marketing! For a beginner like me, it was perfect as I began my blog. I find that I am constantly learning and am becoming more willing to spend money on educating myself when it comes to my blog and the online world.
I will add this as well, everything she goes over in this course can probably be found somewhere on the internet. Honestly, you can find anything on Google. However, it will take you GOBS of time, effort and stress trying to figure out how, what, when and in what order. Michelle has put everything together for you all in one place. With a few clicks each day you could be up and running with affiliate marketing within a week!
